FADE IN



               INT. DOCTOR'S ROOM 

               RYAN SMITS (Ryan Reynolds) sit's on a chair inside an
               examination room. He is alone, waiting for a doctor to
               appear. 

                                   RYAN
                         I hate these annual check-up's. 

               Suddenly, the door SLAMS open and DR. SUSIE DEWITT (Rachel
               McAdams) enters the room. She is wearing a white doctor
               overcoat. A CLIPBOARD is pressed against her chest. 

                                   SUSIE
                         I'm sorry that I have to inform you
                         of this, but you have Bone Marrow
                         Cancer. It's become terminal. 
                             (beat)
                         There's nothing we can do... it's
                         too late.

               Ryan gets up from his chair, a TEAR runs down his right eye.
               He immediately exits the office. 

                                   SUSIE
                         There's a number of treatable
                         measure's you can take Mr. Smits. 



               INT. OFFICE - A COUPLE OF DAY'S LATER

               Ryan is sitting on a chair, in a small cubicle, looking at a
               computer. He is wearing a white button down shirt with a red
               tie. A co-worker named ALAN (T.R. Knight) approaches him, he
               is holding a cup of coffee. 

                                   ALAN
                         I heard the news. So it's really
                         terminal?

               Ryan is still zoned onto his computer.

                                   ALAN
                         Earth to Ryan, are you there?

                                   RYAN
                             (Dazed)
                         What, what?

                                   ALAN
                         I heard the new's, so it's
                         terminal, right?

                                   RYAN
                         Yeah.

                                   ALAN
                         Isn't Bone Marrow cancer, well,
                         curable. 

                                   RYAN
                         Yeah, only if it is detected early
                         enough, unfortunately for me, it's
                         not.

                                   ALAN
                         Look, if there's anything I can do
                         just let me know cause I'm willing
                         to help you out anytime.

               Alan pat's Ryan on the shoulder and exit's the cubicle. 

                                   RYAN
                         Yeah no problem.



               INT. DOCTOR'S ROOM - LATER

               It's the same Doctor's room as before, and Ryan is sitting on
               the same chair as before. However, he is wearing his "working
               clothes." Susie is standing by the only door in the room.

                                   RYAN
                         Are there any option's available? 

                                   SUSIE
                         We can opt for surgery, but at this
                         stage the surgery seems useless.

                                   RYAN
                         Aren't there pills or something
                         that can help me out?

                                   SUSIE
                         Well, radiation might be an option,
                         however, the cancer is most likely
                         not going to go into remission.

               Susie opens up Ryan's file.

                                   SUSIE
                         Do you have a twin brother Mr.
                         Smit?

                                   RYAN
                         Yes...

               He looks strangely at Susie. His right eyebrow raises as he
               get's up to exit. 

                                   SUSIE
                         I was at a convention last month
                         and they revealed a new way to cure
                         cancer cells using DNA.
                             (flip's through the file)
                         You fit the profile of somebody who
                         could be a test subject.

                                   RYAN
                         Wait... did you say test?

                                   SUSIE
                         The procedure is still unproven.
                         It's only been tested twice.

                                   RYAN
                         What happened to those test
                         subject's?

                                   SUSIE
                         They survived... both of them are
                         living full, healthy lives. 

                                   RYAN
                         Who do I contact?

                                   SUSIE
                         Call this number.

               Susie take's a card out of her coat pocket and hand's it to
               Ryan. The Card Reads: "Diagnostic Prevention Trial Program 
               976-5599."

                                   RYAN
                         Thank you, Dr. Dewitt.



               INT. THE CLINIC - DR. STEVEN'S OFFICE

               The office is clean and tidy. Numerous diploma's and award's
               line the office's walls. Ryan is sitting in a chair behind a
               long, narrow, brown desk.
               Sitting behind that desk is DOCTOR RUFUS STEVENS (Robert
               Englund) he is staring at Ryan in contempt, his eye classes
               gently squeeze the bridge of his nose.

                                   RUFUS
                         So your the man Dr. Dewitt sent
                         over. 

                                   RYAN
                         I believe that's correct. 

                                   RUFUS
                         Well the procedure is in fact
                         pretty simple. What we do is
                         extract key cell's from the liver
                         and then we enter them into the
                         infected area of your body.

                                   RYAN
                         So it's my liver?

                                   RUFUS
                         Well not exactly.

                                   RYAN
                         Then whose liver are you using?

                                   RUFUS
                         Your twin's.

                                   RYAN
                         Harry's liver? He'll never consent
                         to it.

                                   RUFUS
                         You do want to live, right?

                                   RYAN
                         Yes I do.

               Rufus get's up from his chair.

                                   RUFUS
                         There's a small catch to this
                         procedure, Mr. Smit.

                                   RYAN
                         What... what catch?

                                   RUFUS
                         It's fatal to the donor.

               Ryan get's up from his chair. 

                                   RYAN
                         Wait... so your saying that if I
                         want to live Harry's got to die?

                                   RUFUS
                         In a way yes. But we're not going
                         to kill him. 
                             (beat)
                         You are.

                                   RYAN
                         What? No! I can't... Harry's my
                         brother. Hell, he's my twin.

                                   RUFUS
                         You've got time to sit on this. 
                             (beat)
                         I know you'll make the right
                         choice.

               Rufus walks up to Ryan and pat's him on the shoulder. After
               patting Ryan on the shoulder, Rufus exit's the room. 



               INT. BREAK ROOM - DAY - LATER

               The camera pushes in on the empty break room. A SANDWICH
               slowly rotates in an 1990's style MICROWAVE. Moment's later
               the microwave start's to make a BEEPING noise. RYAN rushes in
               and grabs the sandwich. The hot grease BURNS Ryan as he
               proceed's to sit on a chair, his hand's still grasping the
               sandwich. Alan walks into the break room. 

                                   ALAN
                         Have you started treatment yet?

                                   RYAN
                         Not exactly.

                                   ALAN
                         Are you still looking? 

                                   RYAN
                         My doctor recommended this special
                         experimental procedure. 

                                   ALAN
                         What kind? Is it acupuncture or
                         radiation or herbal medicine. 

                                   RYAN
                         Nah, it's nothing earthsy.

                                   ALAN
                         Then what is it?

                                   RYAN
                         It's this procedure that involve's
                         getting special cell's from the
                         liver. Then they somehow manipulate
                         the cells and convert it into them
                         into a cancer fighter.

                                   ALAN
                         When are you going to start?

                                   RYAN
                         Soon.

               Alan take's a MAGAZINE from a magazine rack and start's to
               flip through the page's of it. His brief "relaxation" is
               interrupted by a loud BURP.

                                   RYAN
                         Sorry. 

                                   ALAN
                         No problem.

               Ryan takes a bite from his sandwich.

                                   RYAN
                         Would you kill your brother to save
                         your own life? - I mean
                         hypothetically of course.

                                   ALAN
                         It depend's. Is there a gunman
                         involved?

                                   RYAN
                         No.

                                   ALAN
                         Then no. What type of man would
                         kill his own brother?

                                   RYAN
                             (mutters under his breath)
                         A desperate one.

                                   ALAN
                         What?

                                   RYAN
                         Oh yeah... I agree, only
                         psychopath's do that sort of stuff. 



               INT. BASEMENT - NIGHT

               HARRY SMITS (Ryan Reynolds) is sitting at a work desk. He is
               wearing big, square, thick glasses, his body is heavily
               focused on painting a little action figure. Standing behind
               him is Ryan. 

                                   HARRY
                         Thanks for picking up those
                         supplies Ryan. It was a real
                         lifesaver.

                                   RYAN
                         Oh no problem, anything for you
                         bro. 

                                   HARRY
                         Thanks.

               Ryan walks around the basement, he observes the various
               painted figures, his hand's are behind his back. As he walks
               around the room we can see that he is holding an
               unidentifiable object which is slowly and abruptly SWAYING
               with each step he takes. 

                                   RYAN
                         What's that one called?

               Harry turns around. At that moment, Ryan reveals a METAL
               BASEBALL BAT. In pure reaction, Ryan starts smashing the bat
               against Harry's head. Blood GUSHES profusely from the smashed
               area. 

                                   RYAN
                         I had to do it. 



               INT. HALLWAY - LATER

               Ryan pulls on Harry's corpse which is now wrapped in a taped
               up BLACK BLANKET. 



               EXT. PARKING LOT

               Rufus and Ryan are standing in front of a trunk of a car. 

                                   RUFUS
                         So you made your choice. 

               Ryan, glaring with anger, pops the trunk in a silent manner.
               We cannot see what is inside the trunk but we can see a smile
               come across Rufus's face.

                                   RYAN
                         I did. Now I want you to FIX ME!

               The camera makes a 180 degree turn to reveal Harry's corpse
               inside the trunk, his STILL eyes glare up at the camera. 

                                   RUFUS
                         I'll get some nurse's to come up
                         and retrieve the body.
                             (beat)
                         You should follow me. 



               INT. MORGUE LABORTORY 

               Harry's corpse is lying on a STEEL bed in an empty room. A
               doctor carefully puts a needle in the abdomen area. HE slowly
               extracts a greenish liquid from the area. 

                                   DOCTOR
                             (yelling)
                         Tray! 

               A nurse hand's the doctor a tray and he places the needle
               onto it. She quickly exits the room with the tray afterwards. 



               INT. SURGERY ROOM

               Ryan is sitting in a "medical chair" his arms and legs are
               strapped onto it. He is starting to sweat profusely. 

               The door to the lab opens and the same nurse with the tray
               walks in, following her is Rufus. 

                                   RUFUS
                         This is going to hurt.

                                   RYAN
                         Is there any pain medication you
                         can give me? 

                                   RUFUS
                         No... it's still unproven, we don't
                         know if it works with it at this
                         time. You know the pain medication.

               Rufus pulls out a black gag from a drawer beside the chair
               Ryan is sitting in.

                                   RYAN
                         What are you doing?

                                   RUFUS
                         I told you it's going to hurt a
                         lot. 

               Rufus places the gag in Ryan's mouth. Ryan begins to scream,
               but his scream's are muffled by the gag. 

               Rufus then signals for the needle and the same nurse holding
               the tray walks over to Rufus with the needle. The nurse walks
               over to Rufus as he puts on a pair of white latex gloves. 

                                   RUFUS
                         Stop screaming Mr. Smits, or it
                         might complicate things. 

               Rufus takes the needle and with his index finger flicks the
               tip of the needle, instantly some of the green liquid
               SPLATTERS out. Without any notice Rufus jabs the needle into
               Ryan's arm, it's LONG tip fully submerges itself into Ryan's
               skin. Ryan continues to SCREAM.

                                   RUFUS
                         Stop screaming, Mr. Smits. 

               Suddenly a door at the back of the room SMASHES open and a
               green, slimy GHOUL (Tony Todd) walks into the room. It
               quickly walks over to Ryan, examining him carefully. 

                                   RUFUS
                         It's feeding time. 

               Ryan manages to wiggle the gag out of his mouth. His muffled
               SCREAMS become very LOUD.

                                   RYAN
                         Let me go! Let me go!

                                   RUFUS
                         Remember those other patients? They
                         never made it out alive, Mr. Smits.

               The ghoul opens its mouth and place's it on Ryan's face.
